The bride is the foster daughter of Gil and Marilyn Alexander of Helena.
The groom is the son of Lois Von Bergen of East Helena and David Von Bergen of Helena. David Tobel of Great Falls was best man. Merrilee Alexander of Helena was maid of honor. The bride attended Helena Vo-Tech. The groom graduated from Carroll College in 1981 and is employed by the U.S.
Postal Service. The couple honeymooned in Western Montana and will make their home in Helena. Five generation family Five generations of parents (and children) have united in Spokane, with the arrival of Joseph W. Parent, a Helena Valley resident for about 80 years.
Parent moved to Spokane, to make his home with his daughter Mrs. Ivan (Cora Mae) Tucker. Other Parent relatives include his great greatgranddaughter Katie Jo Crain, Katie's greatgrandmother Mrs. Cora M. Tucker, Katie's grandmother Mrs.
Gary (Merlene) Pirkel and Katie's father Randy Crain of Silverton, Ore. The family is chock full of pioneers in the Helena area. Joseph Parent is the son of Ephram and Amanda Parent who moved into the Helena Valley in the 1880's from Flat Creek. Ephram Parent was an early day freighter. Katie Jo's great great-grandmother Mae Warren Parent was the daughter of long-time area residents Charles and Emma Warren.
Her great- great- greatgrandparents were William and Lucinda Warren who arrived in the Helena Valley in 1872. William Warren donated the land to the county for the Warren School. Katie's great- great- great-grandparents were Michael and Amanda Geary. Michael Geary arrived in Helena as a prospector in 1864. His biggest find was in Nelson Gulch.
Parent raised his family in the home his Parent built on North Montana Avenue. Petek-Rigler reunion Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds will be the setting for the Petek-Rigler family reunion June 26.
